Anybody know where Rolex gets its alligator skin for premarket watchbands from?

Looking to buy local (US) as much as possible.

"The easy way to tell the difference between an alligator and a crocodile is whether you'll see them later or after awhile."

Not sure where Rolex gets their goods, but are we sure they aren't THAT vertically integrated to have their own alligator farm?

I would personally just go the cheaper, aftermarket route.

They're not open about these sources at all.

Based on nothing more than probability, the U.S. seems to be unlikely.

Surely an alligator farm is cheaper than a foundry. Alligator farmers please inform me.

I have no proof of this - but several years back there was a story on Australian ‘60 minutes’ about crocodile farming in far North Queensland. So, around Cairns. It was about Australia’s ability to produce some of the best skins in the world. In demand by the luxury brands.

The Aust crocodile farming business is pretty big.

You asked about Aligator skins - don’t know if we farm those but crocs yes. Our currency exchange rate makes prices attractive too.
