Get my friend to buy my watch or wait to purchase myself?

I'm looking to get an air king and one popped up in a city that my family friend can go and ship it too me, Im thinking of getting her to purchasing it for me however i'm also on wait lists in stores in stores that say they probably will get one before my birthday in november, however that store is about 9 hour drive away. My local AD's dont think they will get one till next year either so I'm assuming that they wont get one. If I get my friend to get the watch for me it would be 200$ cheaper as well but I dont know how much it would cost to ship.
Should I wait and get the watch myself or get my friend to buy it and send it to me?

I would prefer to go for a sure thing personally. If you can get the watch you want now, why wait?

Why can't she just buy it and ask the store to ship it to your address...? Shipping should be around 50-100 and you'd get the watch now.

I would do that

I don’t understand your dilemma. Are you trying to get one on your own to “build a relationship” with an AD local to you? Weighing the benefits of each, I would definitely not wait and get it now.

Air King is not a hot model. But it by yourself.

I would get the watch now. No reason to wait if you have the funds. You can start wearing it and enjoying it.

No brainer. Get the watch, have the AD or your friend ship it. Why would you drive 9hrs to get it from somewhere else, even if they had it in stock? I wouldn’t consider any of these places local.
