Incoming 9F Day Date

I’ve had this watch for a few weeks now and love it. I purchased it from Seiya who was outstanding to work with in all respects. The watch is fantastic as it has a spectacular yet subtle, sunray, off-white/champagne to silver colored dial depending on the light. This is my first GS purchase and am very impressed. And thank you, Adam, for your input and questions I had regarding this reference.

Just add a word like Explorer underneath the hand stack and they have anew icon.

You know what I was thinking I'd like to see? Move the day/date window under the hand stack, or have separate windows for the day and the date. A callback to the old Seiko "business." Would be epic!

Congrats. I'm glad you like it. Mine gets loads of wrist time, probably because it's versatile and always ready to go. Yours is the only other one I've seen on TRF

I just sent this one to a collector down in Singapore. Kind of regretting it already.

No, but you can do the same as the OP did, by purchasing it from Seiya in Japan, who’s been exporting JDM Seikos for many years now.

I actually tried this but was told that Seiya will not export this particular model to the EU or UK. I don't know if there's any other way of getting hold of this :(

There are usually a few on eBay. Try searching SBGT235, or SBGT035 if you want the earlier dial version with SEIKO on the dial like this....

Some potential others to acquire it from, after you’ve done the due diligence.

https://www.sakurawatches.com/grand-seiko-sbgt235
https://www.thewatchcompany.com/gran...z-sbgt235.html
https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/...se0898125-w07/

You could try chinowatch and higuchi, to see if they are still selling to the UK.
Seiko have been clamping down for a good few years now on parallel exporting, to protect the UK price differential.
No such issue for the US, and EU too, iirc.
Ironically though, if it wasn’t for those 3 sellers, many of us watch aficionados wouldn’t have had a clue about GS, let alone extolling their virtues to others.
