Tudor 9401/0 Blue dial Snow Flake

After purchasing this Tudor, my client sent it in to have it authenticated during the 3 day inspection period.

Everything looked good and I think this was a very nice example, especially the dial. I went through the steps of servicing the watch, stabilizing the sweep hand, providing NOS period T19 and a NOS 7020 casetube.

I appreciate my clients trusting me with their beloved pieces and allowing me to do what I love.

Beautiful watch Phillip. I was wondering. When they replace the tube and crown on a watch the crown I can recognize, the tube not so much. Is the 4th picture in the set the tube and is it like a stud on an engine block that threads into the case but also provides the access to the movement (hollow) and threads for the crown to screw down? In a nut shell is that threaded thing the tube? Reading my question I'm not even sure what I wrote will make any sense but I do look forward to your answer. BTW, I love these threads you share about client watches. Thank you!

Yes, the 4th picture is the old casetube. It is threaded at the end enabling it to screw into the case. Inside, it is hollow and with this design, it allows 2, 6mm gaskets to fit.

Super pretty watch. It kind of deserves a much nicer insert imho but I guess the owner prefer this look. Thanks for sharing.

Actually, he is currently looking for a more appropriate insert if anyone knows of one.

I only got this one to sell but it is blue and it is late 70's with the boxy 4. No idea what happened at the bottom but the color is nice.
