Wow, you definitely came out ahead on that deal! Congrats. I haven't been able to find the KO Rye Batch 1, but Batch 2 is my favorite whiskey I've purchased this year, I think (maybe only second behind my Blanton's Gold). Are you planning on drinking those? I hear it's a thing to just put them on shelves and take pictures...

It’s funny you say that; my dad views me as a superb collector...I don’t what so ever. I think the only bottle in my collection I don’t plan on opening in the next twelve months is the OKI I just got.

I open everything lol

I think Julian Van Winkle and other great master distillers of yore would be very disappointed that so many people just want to take pictures of their whiskey in the bottle instead of enjoying it. I open all of mine and plan to drink every single one.

Well, here we go...

https://thewhiskeywash.com/whiskey-s...ails-revealed/

I do have to say, if I can source a bottle of the Eagle Rare 17, I will do so. That's going to be my goal this year. It was distilled in the spring of 2002, about the time I graduated high school. I wanted a 2017 Eagle Rare 17 to commemorate my kiddo's birth, but that's looking less and less likely every day that goes by. I'm not paying $1500+ for a bottle.

So, if anyone comes across a bottle of 2019 Eagle Rare 17 and doesn't plan to get it for themselves, I will GLADLY pay you for it.

The Michter Toasted is very delicious. I can not find that stuff anywhere.

Nice pick up...where did you find the Blanton's in Charlotte? I've been looking for a bottle to try it.

Thanks!

Enjoy! My guy in town can only get me one Blanton's bottle every other month. In the interim I drink Buffalo Trace-that is some good stuff for $30 a bottle

Pre-fire HH is pretty tasty, certain lots of OF are too, who distilled the other bottles? Is there a DSP number on the bottles to confirm?

I think Hill and Hill is National Distillery, Sunny Brook is definitely ND, C of K is C of K Distillers, TM is Barton I think.

Yes, will be opening some here in short order. Was able to score multiples of a few of these, and they’ll get offered on a couple different fora for folks who are interested.

Will check for DSP info later this evening. Off the top of my head, I remember the bottle dates on the bottom for the following were:

Heaven Hill 6 year - 1978 and 1979
Tom Moore - 1982
Old Forester - 1983
Hill and Hill - 1980
Sunny Brook - 1982

Can’t figure out the Cream of Kentucky bottle date, and it’s driving me crazy. It has the US Internal Revenue stamp, but the bottle says “750 ML (25.4 FL OZ)” at the bottom.....

I have my ways . Would love to meet up some time and talk watches and whiskey. If you're wanting to try Blanton's I can probably make that happen as well as some even better stuff.

I did a little taste test tonight between Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace.
BT was the winner and not by a small margin. Just my two cents.

Night of the dusties! Had dinner with some friends who grew up in Lexington, Kentucky. Great nostalgia for them.

1983, 1999 and 1980 bottle dates from L to R
