Hello from Canada !
Just joined a few weeks ago, what a great place to get accurate info !
I had an old Red Sub passed down to me from my Father, all original, still had scars, bill of sale , documentation and box. I brought in to a high end local Rolex dealer here. All he wanted to do was sell me a new one ! Offered my $2000 for it...I came home and started doing my homework reading, boy, am I glad I did ! This forum really opened my eyes to the world of great collectors. I ended up getting an unbelievable top dollar for my Fathers watch ! Daniel from London Watches. The deal went flawless and we are both happy now ! Thanks to all that help educate people like me on this forum ! |

Hi Jjewel,
Welcome and congrats on an awesome deal, I spent quite a few months reading through here and I though I know a bit here and there, but compared to the Guys and Gals on here I knew a drop in the ocean. Enjoy yourself, wont take you long to get to know all the regulars, I know I haven't chatted with many of the regular posters on here but I know I'd share a coffee or two with them all :-) Dave.

I have to thank you again, for welcoming me to your humble aboad here..
I was going to restore my Fathers watch by a local watchmaker here and I was going to get the parts....well, I sold as it was, thats the way he wanted it. I now have a black sub bezel ( used original) and a new Rolex crystal for it, would it be proper to sell it on the forum under the classifieds ? I have to admit, I thought us boaters were a wacky bunch, but you watch collectors take the cake !! |
