The nbTimes ban is temporary, his account was hacked because he entered his login info to a fake TRF page (link given in a PM from another hacked account), and someone was sending PMs from his account, so we had to shut him down for security reasons.

Hill Street Watch
I just completed a transaction with Cristina at Hill Street Watch. I purchased a 16570 Polar for a fair price and great service.

Andrew Shear (sheartime.com)
Bought a 1680 MK IV red sub and the experience was smooth. I live outside US and this was my first online vintage purchase so I was a bit nervous. We exchanged several emails and he provided all the information I requested. The deal was sealed quickly and he was prompt with the shipment which arrived securely packaged via FedEx.
I highly recommend him and would not hesitate to do business again. |

I would highly recommend http://www.watchandbullion.com/ in Gibraltar.
Jordan has an eclectic stock of vintage and modern coming and going all the time (other brands too) and an unprecedented access to some private collectors back catalogue who he has come to know and gain the trust of over the years... |

I think it's time for the boys at Club Patina to be added to the list. I've both bought and sold with them. Extremely knowledgable, fair and honest. A couple of strait shooters they are.

I just found this thread...What a great resource. Thank you!
I have had experiences with: Jacek at HQ Milton. Jacek and his team are great to deal with. Outstanding inventory and excellent communication and service. Highly recommended. Michael Morgan at Iconic Watch Company. Michael is great to deal with. Seems to source hard to find examples and parts. Excellent communication and service. Highly recommended. Kirill Yuzh at Lunar Oyster. Kirill is a great guy. I may be biased since I acquired my birth year "grail" piece from him. We worked out a multiple watch trade/deal. Excellent communication and service. Highly recommended. |

A list of trusted watchmakers?
I am looking for an independent watchmaker who can repair an IWC.
Perhaps it would be helpful if there were a list of trusted watchmakers as there is One for trusted sellers. |

I had a mixed experience with Connoisseur. Came across an unusual 1969 IWC. The description, in various ads, of how the watch had been restored (including relumed hands), was a big factor in my decision to purchase. When the watch arrived with no lume, I contacted Paul. He was very gracious, but also let me know that "We actually didn’t do the restoration on the watch." When I sent it back to be lumed, they discovered three more issues (crystal didn't fit exactly right and might let in water; an issue with the seconds post; and "the paint is hardened on the hands more than usual". Paul took care of all these problems. The first time I went to wear the watch, after I got it back, I sat down to set the time and the crown/stem came off in my hands. Paul said that is "quite common [with] the one-piece case [that] was a popular design in the 60’s into the 70’s." I've only been collecting for ten years, bought about a dozen watches, of which I still have six, so I might be more disappointed about this than is warranted, if this sort of buying experience is more common than I'm imagining. |

Thanks for putting this list together, really invaluable for me - as an amateur, being told to "buy the buyer....not the watch" is all well and good, but credible, measurable feedback listed here is superb
I've purchased two watches from HQ Milton which was a decent experience Grahame Fowler in NY was also very helpful when I purchased a Tudor 7021/0 Go to thread for me :-) |

I would highly recommend visiting John Criscitiello/Alltiques, 70 Bowery, (at the foot of the Manhattan Bridge in the Chinatown area of Manhattan). He always has a fascinating collection of vintage watches.
I have known John for over 20 years. He is as honest as the day is long. 212-965-0123 Ralph |

Watch Repairs USA, no good
I hope this is OK to place here.
Found this repair company that advertised that it had a lot of Enicar parts. One of my Sherpa Guides needed some attention so I sent it to them with the following request... About Your Watch Manufacturer Enicar Service(s) Requested Not Keeping Time, Seals / Gaskets, Crystal Replacement, Overhaul Notes Runs but starts and stops, winds very roughly Their estimate said... Service Description Price Overhaul 1 Year Warranty Complete mechanical restoration - Disassemble watch, clean all moving parts with specialized cleaning solvents, lubricate internal components with high grade oil, time test for 48 - 72 hours. Movement disassembly required in order to access affected components. The following repair(s) will be completed during the overhaul process: Discontinued model Main spring replacement Hand make discontinued parts Rebuild self-winding mechanism $899.99 Tune Up Ultrasonically clean all watch parts. $0.00 Subtotal: $899.99 Shipping: $19.50 Total: $919.49 Watch Repairs USA I got the watch back after about a month and it is running nicely except that the crystal that I asked to be replaced looks to be replaced by a used crystal. My official complaint was as follows... Repair # 210696 I received my watch 2 days ago and it its running nicely, however, one of my requests was to have a new crystal placed. Being a dentist, I use 4.5 power loupes on a daily basis. It appears as though the old crystal was replaced but with another used crystal. It was not a NOS crystal which has been sitting around which might have gotten scratched. Under close examination, it has scratches and pits which are small but, nonetheless, have been polished but not completely removed. This also makes me worry that it will have a lack of seal if new gaskets have indeed been placed. After more than a month and paying in advance, I'm really not in the mood to send this back in the mail to have corrected. But, I wouldn't be adverse to some sort of refund of my credit card fees. It is hard to imagine that this was accidental. It's obvious, under magnification, that it is not a new or NOS crystal. Let me know. and their response... Thank you for your email. Please note that a crystal was not included on your estimate so it was not changed. If you would like to send it in for a crystal we would be more than happy to provide you with an estimate. I sent an email back that stated it was in my original request to have the crystal replaced. I cannot believe that it wasn't part of a complete service. I also asked for all gaskets to be replaced. Am I to assume, that since that was not included in the "estimate", that was not done either. I would not have sent this watch to an unknown if it had been one of my really valuable watches, but I thought I would try. No more I don't really chase people down to get them to do the right thing and will just move on. Just wanted to let you know. Their response... Please note that you did receive an estimate in regards to internal repairs which was the overhaul. We do understand that you listed the crystal as a request but it was not included on the estimate as an overhaul only pertains to work to the movement. Please also note that we notated above the estimate, "Due to age / condition of watch case, water resistant operation cannot be guaranteed going forward." in regards to your mentioning of the seals/gaskets. A crystal was not replaced and you were not provided a non-NOS crystal. As mentioned earlier we are more than happy to assist you with a crystal but since it is not something that was paid for on the original estimate it is not something that we can resolve without the watch coming in and us providing you with an estimate for the service. If there was any questions in regards to what repairs were being done we would have been more than happy to go over the estimate for you. Thank you and we apologize for any misunderstanding. Since their estimate was not itemized I assumed it included the crystal. Now I guess it did not include the gaskets either, both of which I requested. Stay away |

Hi Guys , I am a new comer fron Hong Kong. Just want to find out if any of you had dealt with HQ MILTON ? The company's previous reputation in this forum seemed good and the company's website looks good but I have just brought a GMT Master from it but found having problem. There is a return policy and I will see if the company will honour that policy.
