FWIW, that place is near the "Archives" stop on the Metro (Green Line). Parking is awful in DC.

I'll need a confirmation at least a couple of days in advance so I can make the reservation.

The restaurant is actually conveniently located between the Chinatown/Gallery Place exit on the Red/Yellow/Green lines (walk south on 7th Street about 3 blocks) and Archives/Navy Memorial (walk north on 7th Street about 3 blocks).

If you get out at the Verizon Center exit (7th & F Sts), it's about the same distance to Oyamel (7th & D Sts) as Archives. 2 blocks either way.

We will either be 7 or 8.

I tried to make a reservation, but they didn't have any available for a party our size. The manager said to come early and we shouldn't have to wait more than 30-45 minutes. I will plan to get there at 6:30 PM and put my name on the waiting list. That should get us a table by 7:30 PM.

Sorry, David, I can't make it to York. We have to be in NYC over that weekend and mid-week is out for me. We'll be looking for lots of pics from that GTG as well.

We were a small (6 people) but lively group. The food was good, the drinks were better, and the conversation continuous and stimulating. It's always great to put faces and names to the forum handles. Ironically, three of the four Rolexes at the meet turned out to be GMTs. I GMT-II and 2 GMT-IIc's. What does that tell you about the popularity of that model.

Here is my only contribution to the pics.

Left to right: GMT-IIc; Ladies Oyster; GMT-IIc, Piaget Polo, GMT-II. Notice all the GMTs are black bezel, black dial SS models. Nothing fany, but highly useful watches.

Yes it was. And I hope no one had any contaigous diseases since we all sampled that one taco.

The consensus was that it tasted like very salty chicken strips. Good to try once. Now we can say that we've all eaten grasshopper.
