These are the watches I wear with a suit........& I consider a suit, jacket & pants, maybe vest, all same fabric......

this watch, w/ navy or black blazer, gray or khaki pants

The Panerai is the small one, 40mm fits under ls dress shirt & suit cuff.
The YG DJ & Omega I also wear w/ a black tux.
I'll leave the sport watches w/ suits/tuxs to the celebs, their taste is in their mouths

I do it (Sub, GMT, and the like), will continue to do it, and see no reason not to do it, as long as I like the look. I have also worn Pateks, including my Perpetual (in the 1980's), also a "big" watch (in my opinion) at the time. I simply do not care to follow other people's "norms" when they don't make sense to me. I'm 56, and having spent over 20 years in forensic medicine, specializing in litigation support, working in other countries on large scale accidents, such as airplane crashes, chemical/pesticide. In meeting/working with government and military officials, and spending time in court, I have worn suits much of my adult life, often sporting a GMT, and have never felt uncomfortable.

By all means. A Sub or SD would never look out of place IMHO.

I'm on the "nay" list. Especially something over-sized like a Panerai.

There's plenty of dress watch options.

Absolutely as long as you wear all gold with earth tones and stainless with Greys, blacks etc.

I find TTs work well with most everything. You will need more watches..

Yeah, and my 'nonconformist' brother wears running shoes with a suit. He thinks it makes him look hip or something... But he's divorced and hasn't had a date in years.

One of the reasons I bought the Explorer II was that it seemed to go great with a suit and it seemed to go great with shorts and a t-shirt. I definitely fall into the "yes" category. I also have a large wrist, which I think further downplays the "sport" or "tool" aspect of the watch. I agree with the earlier comment that I would not wear something more oversized, like a Panerai, with a suit.

Maybe so, but most of us don't wear 'Freedom cuffs', and a fat watch like that spoils the line of your suit, if it fits under the cuff at all.

Three words: Ab. So. Lutely.

IMHO sub goes with EVERYthing. If you're feeling really dressy you can go with the SS YM.

Not sayin dress watches don't have their place. Just like the idea that you can go from the boardroom directly to the surfboard without changing watches....

In one's own mind, sure...but without good quality and cut to start with, no accessory performs magic tricks.

In this age, there are few sins of what to where.

Still, for me, a tool watch is not "clean" enough to go with more formal attire. Sure ads will be there to show otherwise- why not? For me, though, it's a no.

I think the dress watches look best with a suit but a sport model is not out of place, either. Wear what makes you comfortable.

If I had to wear a suit for work I would, in a social setting requiring suit/DJ I would prefer a dress watch
