Like you I have a 5500 Explorer which in my case was bought new in June 1965 - which means that I have owned it for 45 years and 9 months. Currently it is running within chronometer specifications.

My oldest is my A serial Explorer II - been wearing that one regularly since May 1999.
My newest is my GMT IIC which I bought in May 2010. Looks like May can be an expensive month for me. |

I bought my Serti Sub new almost 12 years ago. Its never been serviced or detailed. Just a wash with diluted dish soap and the occasional rub down with a cape cod cloth.
This pic was taken last year... |

I bought my DJ preloved 4 months ago & I should have done it years ago. When I think of the money I waisted on other things like food, mortgage, car payments it makes me sick...
