I like to keep it simple. I probably won't do that anymore, but I have done it a couple of times in the past. I can lock them all up at the bank, now, so I don't have to worry about break-ins while I'm gone.

I used to take 4. One one my wrist and three in my travel case. Not any more.
Two years ago our hotel room was ransacked by an inside worker. ( someone made an extra room key and it wasn't one of us. It showed up on the access records as an extra housekeeping visit). Lucky they left 3 Pannies but took cash and a gold chain from the travel case. I count myself very lucky. Had they been Rolexes I'm sure they would have been gone. So only he one on my wrist for hotel visits.

Always travel with a Sub and then one or two others in the bag.
Going North today with a Sub on the wrist and a Pam 106 and a Breitling SOH II in the bag...

Only one: Sub. and never take it off.
Wouldn´t like to risk keeping extra Rolexes in the hotel room.

Well, it all depends on where I am going, doesn't it?
Normally, I just go with my SubC on these days. Might bring a G-Shock or Suunto depending on what activities I will be involved in. |

Everyone seems to have their own preferences on how many watches they take on their trips. I have some regular guidelines that I follow.
If I am traveling in the US for business one or two. Pleasure travel in the US and staying with Family/friends then 2 or 3 Overseas travel- Latin America- One or none depending on the country. Caribbean- One or Two- depends if staying in hotel or renting a house/condo Europe- One or two depends the accomodations

If I'm on holiday the watches stay at home. If it's business just one and usually something cheap and plastic. I tend to work in quite poor parts of the world and have learned not to take anything with me that I can't lose or that attracts attention.

I usually toss in one or two extra. I place the extras in those round Oakley travel storage pouches. I forget who told us about them here, but whoever you are, Thanks!
Btw, I used to say, 'I tend to travel very light, I only take one bag along. By the way, have you met my lovely wife Gertrude?' We are not together any more. |

I wear one watch and carry no spares. If you check the fine print in most hotel contracts, they limit reimbursement for objects lost or stolen from hotel room safes to $250-500.

I'm a big believer in the idea that your Rolex is safest when on your wrist. Theft or loss are the real risk to my watches. Carrying extra when I travel is not worth the risk. At some point they'll be in a briefcase or hotel room where I will have to leave them, and lots of people will have access to the room.

Usually one watch with extra timezone capabilities. Occasionally I'll bring a beater along if hazards are predicted.
