Arrrgh, not what you'd expect from a RSC! I thought every time they opened the back up, they would pressure test it when they screwed is back on again?
Keep us all informed of what happens, we'd all be greatly interested to hear! |

Damn, RSC really messed this one up. Isn't it S.O.P. for them to pressure test all oysters when it is opened up?
IMO, best solution is they give you a brand new watch, since this is still under warranty and it's obviously their fault, though that may be a long shot and I feel RSC will just give you endless reasons why a new watch is out of the question (ie. company policy, etc. etc.) At any rate, I hope it gets straightened out to your ultimate satisfaction, and do keep us posted. Horror stories like these (and there are plenty concerning RSC's worldwide), make you wonder if the price they are charging for "service", which by the way has increased faster than a speeding bullet through the years, is really worth it. |

I currently have my Sub at RSC Dallas for a bracelet issue under warranty. However they are going to open it up and regulate it at the same time. I just fired off an email and am also going to call today requesting that they pressure test it to its full 300m / 1000ft capacity while they have it. I would assume it IS S.O.P. but someone dropped the ball on Clark's watch and maybe a proactive request for pressure testing would make sure another does not slip through the cracks. I am really sorry you are having to deal with this Clark. Usually RSC Dallas has the best reputation of all the US service centers for competency.

This is really unbelievable. Hopefully an oversight and ROLEX RSC Dallas should make every effort to make it right for you Clark. Totally unacceptable and really unfortunate.

New dial
New hands Full movement service Anything less is unacceptable given the fact that your out your watch and the time absorbed into this debacle. That is just plain SLOPPY work, sad. |

Dallas RSC owes you a complete service or a new watch. Chances are you will get the former, not the latter. Hope this is quickly resolved to your satisfaction.

I am sure they will do the right thing. I would obviously demand a full movement servicing and new dial/hands.
Oh and be happy you caught this while it was still under warranty.

Yes, and i wouldn't want to be whoever worked on your watch and sent it out without a pressure test.

Somehow I think they will try to pass the blame onto the OP and deny any wrongdoing. I hope that isn't the case, but in this day and age no one wants to take responsibility for anything.

A watch that got water inside needs a full service, cleaning with special chemical agent to avoid rust and then lubrication.
A dial that got wet, will either show stains, or in a worse case it will flake the color from the base in some time. So, it also needs change. The effect of water on the hands is obvious, so I will not speak about it. I hope that You will manage to get them do what they have to do, though they will try to put the blame on you for misuse. All the best !

I spoke with RSC Dallas over the phone and told them what happened. She gave me a case number and watch is in the mail. Until they have the watch and figure out the problem she said she could not talk about a resolution. So the waiting game begins. I will keep you guys posted. Thanks everyone.

I had my 16610 Sub serviced by RSC and to be honest, I wasn't really impressed. Isn't there a sticky in the tech section on TRF that mentions an actual watchmaker never touches a watch at the RSC until the timing stage?
I think RSC is over-hyped. |

No one knows for sure what RSC will do or say, but I will be surprised if they blame the OP for not screwing down the crown. That would send the message that they don't trust any of their loyal customers, who pay big bucks for these watches.
Keep us posted and Good Luck ! |

Clark, I know this has to be frustrating. Keep up the patience and I sincerely hope RSC takes care of the Sub to your complete satisfaction. Can't wait to read about the results. I hope it comes back quickly.

That sucks man, your Sub sure had a rough journey. First the scratch bezel, dust on your dial, and now this. I send my GMTc to RSC Dallas a few days ago. I'm still waiting for their call. I'll definitely remind them to pressure test my watch.

Yikes. Hope this resolves soon.
Do you have a picture of the watch before you mailed it?
