A Pelagos would be a great choice as well.

I would find a way to make 1500 more and get a 114060.

For the sake of playing by the rules a pelagos or speedy.

Under $4K would be 3570.50, 16570, Tudor Pelagos and Black Bay.

I assume since you're here on TRF you would like something from the Rolex family. So I'm going to say either a Tudor Black Bay or Pelagos. If you're willing to save a bit longer, then a new Explorer I or OP39 depending on your tastes. Outside of Rolex I like the idea of an Omega SMP or Speedy. Good luck and let us know what you decided along with pics. Cheers!

Some bice tudors. But also really nice second hand breitlings. You can get a chronomat or a blackbird big date both of which are very finished. New breitlings in that range too including much of the avenger ii line.

Wearing that exact same watch right now. I still love it and think it was a good buy and a great looking watch.

Plenty of wrist presence

Used Datejust is always a good option, though I would seriously consider offering from Tudor: both Black Bay and Pelagos can be had around that price, and both are really fantastic watches in their own right.

I am pretty nuts about the Pelagos, and it's a lot of watch for the $.

Probably one of these, preferably used if you're on a budget. The THC gives you most useful functions of any current Rolex or Tudor...date, stopwatch, timezone bezel.
