Better on the wrist than the car but, no. I don't wear it to the gym. By the way, what's a gym?

Maybe... if it was an older guy with a Rolex on I wouldn't give it much thought. I leave my watch locked in my car. I would find it very uncomfortable to work out wearing my sub. If I need a watch to time something I use my iPhone.

My trainer said I could wear gloves only if they match my purse.

I don't go to any gym. It might cause me to loose weight. I had a friend named Jim once though.

Would love to wear Daytona to the gym, but still on the waiting list.

I don't wear a Rolex to the gym because it isn't safe.

The jarring motion of a treadmill will damage the KIF shock protection and the watch will loose accuracy.

Moving your arms around with weights will cause premature bracelet stretch and it will wear loose.

And don't get me started on the steam room that will just destroy the gaskets and render it useless.

If im leaving my house to just go to the gym then I would leave it at home, but if I'm wearing it already and go straight to the gym I'll leave it on my wrist instead of leaving it in my car or putting it in a gym locker. But I'll be honest, my workout isn't the same, I'm too conscious about the watch and it's not really the place to be wearing it. Just the fact that your thinking about it will definitely affect your workout.

I usually lock mine in the glove box in the car if I'm out already and going to the gym. The chances of someone cracking my lock in the change room is much higher. Also, I believe car insurance would cover theft.

No idea!

Is it a misspelling of Jim?

He's the bloke downunder we call to cleanup our backyard...

My Jim guy don't really care what watch I'm wearing whilst watching him work.

I wear wrist straps and compression sleeves (sleeves only on back/biceps day) so I couldn’t wear a watch if I wanted to. Which I don’t.

I can think of only three logical reasons to wear a high end watch in the gym:

1. Security i.e. lockers are unsafe
2. 24/7 watch wearer i.e. you never take it off
3. Posing

I wore my SubC once to the gym, but not on purpose. Just forgot I had it on and got to the gym and figured it was safer with me vs. in my car. It was a push day so I usually wear wrist wraps on my heavier sets, so I used the glidelock so I could have it ride high on my arm while wearing wrist wraps.

Never again.

Ive seen them at the gym, occasionally there's a guy wearing a beautiful TT blue dialed Sub.

Nevertheless, there's no chance in he!! I'd wear my Rolex, or Omega or any other watch to the gym.

Cheap shot and not cool. Dude might be dyslexic or it could be that his first language isn’t English.

If we’re going back to school here it’s actually ‘thereof’, not ‘there of’

I go to the gym straight from work so always have my Rolex on, BLNR or SD usually. I’d rather wear it than leave it in the locker.

In my case it has nothing to do with letting everyone know I own a Rolex and everything to do with wishing to leave the gym with what I went in with.

You don’t have a gym suit?

In all seriousness though, I feel metal bracelets restrict my wrist movement too much when handling heavy stuff, let alone at the gym. So usually strap my watch around my water bottle. We have our own gym at work, so not too concerned about anyone taking it.

Ditto. I go to the gym straight after work and wouldn't dare leave it in the car in the car park, even with the CCTV cameras out there, so it's not because I'm a poser.

Mind you, I'm more a keep fit gym goer rather than lifting heavy weights. However, I do take on board the bit about stretching the bracelet.

Absolutely right, those who know what they are doing can break into a locker or locked car/glove box in seconds (and with a hoodie up in a car park with CCTV).

If I have a decent watch on before/after work at the gym, I thread the bracelet through the drawstring of tracksuit bottoms and tie the string in a double bow on a weights day. The watch sits securely out of sight and harms way, been doing it for 20 years.

You’re not a poser. See my point no. 1

Last time I was in the UK, I left mine in the car under my spare wheel. I won’t do that in future, I’ll leave it dangling on a cord in my Alan’s as per Stevedssd.

No, You're missing the point. It's lazy writing, and it's all over this forum. I'm dyslexic and sure I make mistakes but I know what a period is and so does everyone else. Many here seemingly just don't care. (Padi) And I'm pretty sure periods are universal across multiple languages and varying levels of English comprehension. It's not a grammatical slip. It's just lazy. Period.
