Am I the only 1 who does this??

I wear my Rolex to the gym. Got the Daytona C about 1 month ago and haven’t worn any of my other watches since then. So Daytona C in the gym for the past month.

Never would be too paranoid about accidentally dinging it.

I think im what i call “watch aware.” Been wearing my Sub & gmt to the gym for years. Never any issues. And the same with the Daytona. No issues.

I wouldn't let that thing within a mile of all that gym equipment.

Of course, my luck says that if there is anything to bang a watch on, I'll find it.

Honestly i dont even think about it. Its just the normal routine i guess. Only time i think about it is when it gets the occasional glance or 2.

I wear gloves at the gym and anything else on the wrist gets in the way- but I know what you mean about DaytonaC... mine is getting all the wrist time these days. So hard to switch to the next in the rotation.. so I’m not! For my sized wrist, the size and fit are near perfection

I wear both Sub and Speedy at the gym (well, not at the same time.) Though I would put the Daytona C at a different level.

Its akin to wearing a suit to the gym!! Why not go with appropriate watch for the gym? Something like G-shock/Fitbit/Apple watch?

I dont have any of those watches. Not to sound like a tool but I only have Rolex & cartier. So the appropriate watch in the gym for me is whatever watch i happen to wear that day.

And the suit comment is definitely not a good analogy. I may wear a suit once or twice a year. And believe me i try to avoid those occasions whenever i can. Lol

I wear my watches in the ocean and with pretty much anything I do. I would not wear mine to the gym as it's just a little too high risk of getting it damaged in a stupid way. Call me crazy, but if I lost my Submariner Date in the ocean because the bracelet broke, I'd have an easier time dealing with that than if I smashed the crystal by bumping it into a bar at the gym.

.No watches when I lift weights. Way too much of a distraction.

Carry on. It's the doors and door knobs you have to watch out.

Enjoy your watch!

Can't say that I do. Mine is about 7 years away. Do you wear it when you hit the showers?

I do it. Rather have it on my wrist than in a locker.

I wear my GMT to the gym. Hell, now that I sleep with it on I don't think I've taken it off other than to clean it or re-set the date in around 8 months. That includes gym, golfing, running, cycling... everything!

No issues so far.

Probably not. But I think that's a bit abusive. Not being overly careful is one thing, but wearing it in the gym, some of the lifting (wrist) movements may stretch the bracelet. I have done that to my beater, a TAG, long time ago. Plus, I find it pretty uncomfortable wearing a watch that will move around during work out.

When I went from the office to the gym, I always wore it. Now that I come from home, I usually leave it at home. But for 15-20 years, it went to the gym 3x/week, followed by some combo of (gasp) sauna/steam/whirlpool and then shower. Watch was (and is) fine.

I didn't realize how much I was flirting with disaster until I came here.

If I was at the gym and saw a guy wearing a Rolex while working out, I would think to myself, "Man, that guy must really want people to know he owns a Rolex." I'm sure I'm not the only one who would have that thought.

Garmin Swim is my gym watch as it tracks my swimming distance and efficiency. Rolex is in the locker.
