Nope. I buy what I like and just wear them.

I wear my watch on rotation based on mood. But mood comes also related what clothing I will wear (because of style) or the occasion, the location. But I do enjoy wearing a PM with jeans as much as with a jacket, or casual dress attire. For evening formal tux, Think dress type my Cartier gold watches or Patek 5153r with black strap.
Speedmaster or steel Rolex if on a boat or outing ...

But definitely, watch styles and what you wear can help send the message you want to send to yourself and others at particular situation. Nothing wrong with that.

I don’t have tattoos, so not worry about watch vs tattoo working well together, as I see arm tattoos and certain watches combinations that make me think “don’t go there”. But it is a free world: you can think about it or not —your choice.

Ignore him. Most of his posts are antagonistic and looking for an argument for some reason?

Well said. This chap’s always denigrating people’s opinions and posts, yet such activity is supposed to be frowned upon in the forum.

Whilst one can do as they please with their watch. Different classes and markets exist for specific reasons. You wouldn’t have previously worn a dress watch to dive so a dive watch was born. A different market and appeal opened up, and whilst this stratification isn’t inscribed in stone for complete adherence. It’s nice to appreciate and understand lifestyle choices for those who appreciate to dress differently for different occasions.

I for one agree it’s nice to wear different watches.

When I’m more hoodie and wool formal joggers I appreciate a sporty aesthetic to my watch so I wear my Monaco blue dial (love the blue dial), contemplated a bluesy but thought it’s a little too bling for character

If I’m more smart/casual I’ll wear that DJII silver dial fluted bezel, almost a GADA watch
If I’m black tie/charcoal/grey suit black shoes and belt it’s my Tank Solo XL on the original black croc strap.

No rules but it’s how I play

Next on the radar is the Cartier Ronde Louis Cartier rose gold for the times I want super elegance.

But whilst everyone has their own rules. These are mine and makes me do me!

My 16610 tends to me by daily wear, and when I had my Daytona tended to wear on vacation as the subdials and legibility were problematic (I actually use chronos for my job), but the Daytona was versatile stylistically and water tight, so severed well in that capacity for a while until i gave it to my wife.

After wearing a bunch of G-shocks and Seiko divers while crawling around Navy boats, I have bought pricier watches for specific occasions/ applications: a Breitling Aerospace for an overseas tour, a Seamaster GMT when I started travelling for a defense industry job, finally got a Submariner (couldn't afford it when I was a ... Submariner) as a pass down to my son to mark a special date, then a FP Journe for a dress watch on leather ... which I wore three times, now have in the safe, and replaced with a Tissot day-date. I may replace the latter with a 118138 day date if I can find the right one.
