Asking the questions the people want to know. Given the vintage of the watch, and when it was purchased, I'm guessing "of a certain age" applies here.

Seems a couple of posts that doubted the veracity of the OP have been deleted.

I hate it when they do that, just post that it's stolen with no backstory or anything and then leave. It's so selfish IMHO to just join this forum just for your personal gain, if come across his watch I'm doing the same.

Could be hiking Mount Mansfield out of cell range. Pretty up there.

There is a recovery of stolen property in play. I don’t know if I agree that’s “personal gain” rather than “loss recovery”.

I suggest giving the OP the benefit of the doubt.

The main purpose of posting a stolen watch here is in the pursuit of Justice methinks. We help by repeating the serial number, Google crawls the site, the chance of recovery rises somewhat.

Maybe some like the whole story - and for that reason I was open about my own burglary in 2017. The support I got here yielded 2 recoveries of the 4 Rolexes stolen since then.

For that reason alone I support those who lose a watch whether they are expressive in detail or closed mouth. The shock of the loss has a big affect.
