" The watch dial (or strap) does not match by belt (or shoes) under some indoor lights ", is good enough for me.

My wife and I have always kept our finances seperate. Consequently, we don't (and have never in 15 years) tell each other how to spend our salaries. We meet in the middle where bills are concerned and everything else is our responsibility to save or spend. Thankfully, we're both good spenders!

Really easy for me.......
I've set myself a maximum limit of how many watches I will have at one time. Every time I come upon a watch I have to have, I'll only buy it if I'm willing to sell off one of my others to keep the total the same. Not very exciting, I'm afraid but, that's how I do it.

Because I deserve it! LOL
Actually I'm single, no kids and have a decent job so why not. Plus I liked the earlier answer that I'm helping support the Swiss so that some day I can perhaps move there. Ha, Ha

the trick is (this is sick)-get where she doesn't know how many you have-then you can say "oh, I've had that one for a long time"....no, I'm not there yet, but some day

I have used that trick for years to acquire countless firearms. It's a tad harder for watches because they're so visible , and for the most part we try to buy different styles, metal combi's, dials and whatnot. But I'd say that's as good a strategy as any.
