What is your excuse to buy another watch...?

Ok.. do you have to come up with a good excuse every time you buy another watch... first is easy.. you need a good watch.. second.. you are missing something for dressing events.. third watch.. you need THE ONE... etc. etc...

All this just to convince yourself but if you are married, bf, gf, husband, wife, etc ... the previous excuses probably not enough..

Every time I get a watch my wife rolls her eyes and says.. I hope it is the last one...

I bet there are some good stories or experiences regarding this topic?

Excuses

The one that works for me is pointing out that I don't golf anymore or spend my money on sports tickets. So far it has worked but since I took up fly fishing which can also be expensive I may need another excuse too!

Besides Swiss Banks are not that safe anymore... so no way to hide something in there.. better hide the money in watches..

I used to tell my wife that the next watch is THE watch, and that I'll never need another. She believed me right up to the point I sold my grail solid gold GMT Master II C Rolex. Now she just looks at me, shakes her head, and walks out of the room. The hard part is to get her to keep giving me her opinion on "this or that"..... ; - )

I have been known to point out, with a certain degree of feigned offense if necessary, that nice watches are the only "acceptable" form of fashion bling for a gentleman in an otherwise polite business or social setting, whereas the ladies get to have multiple rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, shoes, handbags etc to spice up their attire. So, just as she has more than one [fill in blank accessory], I need multiple timepieces. So there !

(I'll let you know how it works)

Just buy her another watch, or at least tell her that you sold an older watch to fund the new watch. She'll be happy either way. For some reason, wives (or at least mine) tend not to like when WE spend our OWN money, but it's perfectly fine for them to spend it.

Can't live with em, can't live without em.
