My bnib Sub had a cracked bezel lume dot at 12 o'clock. After much back and forth at NY RSC, they have finally confirmed that the bezel was defective and had it replaced.

A tiny tiny dot on the face near the center. Can not notice it unless you are looking hard

Honestly JJ, I didn't even notice it until another member mentioned they had a bubble and I just had to check mine . I took into the RSC, but said that since it doesn't affect the lume there is no reason to change it and that it happens sometimes. I kind of like it now. It may look like any other Sub Date, but I can always tell which is mine. My personal security measure. Let's see someone try and switch my watch on me

I have two bubbles in the lumes of my DJ. You can the bubble in the 11 if you look hard enough and in the 8 with a loop.

Daytona chrono hand didn't line up (big surprise), but it didn't bother me since I sold it before I had the chance to wear it.

Have seen a few over the years (cue sepia -tinted picture...)

Chipped, dinged, and marked cases, misaligned bezels/inserts, misplaced hour markers, crystal flaws, etc, etc... I would say that if you examined any AD's stock you would find a few 'rogues'...

Take a loupe, and take your time (even if it irritates an impatient salesperson)

Cheers

I am major OCD with a new watch when I purchase it from a AD. My very first Sub(1995) had a micro mark on the dial. After I found it I could not miss it and eventually had the AD exchange the watch. My current Serti Sub was/is perfect. After 3 Rolex watches, before the Serti Sub, my AD knew enough to inspect all watches before I was called. Dust under the crystal, misaligned bezels, etc, are all things I check for. For what we pay, we should expect perfection.

JJ has it right, take your loupe to the AD and look over your prospective purchase BEFORE you lay down the cash. Saves a lot of headaches

A 10X loupe is a very bad thing.

I had a Sub. that had no working lume.

I think you could probably say the same thing about any watch brand.

I haven't noticed flaws on either of my Rolex watches, but I haven't scoured them with a 10X loupe either. I've looked at them with a regular magnifying glass and haven't noticed anything.
