One's a time only piece with a chronograph. Remember the Daytona has screw-in and out chrono buttons. I agree it is an awesome watch but the screw buttons (and somewhat small chrono indications) have caused two Daytona's to come and go for me. The AP is much cleaner in my opinion plus the date and I don't think the movement is as fragile as you might think!

Good luck!

I would flip the Omega and get both. I have both and wouldn't know which one to keep and which to let go.

I have owned a Daytona and still own the 15400.

It's a hard decision, they are both great and different. I let the Daytona go and I miss it, it is probably the most comfortable watch I have ever owned.

I will probably get another one in the future if I have the chance.

Why choose? Get the 15400 preowned and save a bit of money up front. Then apply those "savings" and the DSOM and get a preowned Daytona.

Trust me, you won't miss the DOSM and if you buy the Daytona you will always want the 15400...

GMTIIc + DSOTM + 15300 (not 15400) white = a killer trio.

You already have a great chrono. Go for brand/look diversity, get the AP!

Faced similar decision a few weeks ago. I tried on a Royal Oak. I felt a real difference between the Rolex and an AP. AP appears to be much better crafted. Daytona just seemed to be more crude. Great watch but the AP works better in my opinion. Oddly enough I now want to add a Daytona.

I love Rolex but Between Daytona and Royal Oak....

I will say Royal Oak... Simply gorgeous.
(Let me warn you it's a scratch magnet)

I'm one of those that doesn't fancy daytona... Sorry

Sounds like a great idea, I like the Omega but the DSOTM is an expensive Omega in my mind, so I would jump on that dial Daytona I prefer it massively to the white SS but accept that is just me, all of us like different things (I think the gold gives more colour vs a pure SS, full gold another step up again). I concur with some of the comments with your wrist you might be better off with a 39mm not 41mm AP, but you will like the AP but they are prone to dings and scrapes. I have owned mine for a few months in rotation and it already has more scrapes and dings than my Rolex Sub that I have had for years. Not talking you out of the watch as I like it a lot...... watches are there to be worn and enjoyed.

I love both..but since i already have 3 rolexes il go for an AP to have one of their iconic models too..BUT i believe it costs more than a Daytona by around Euros 2,000? so that is, if money is not an issue..but it is, Il be happy with a white dialed Daytona...

I prefer the AP, it looks great and classy. Daytona is nice too, but the one in your pic is a little too blingy for me. I would prefer a white dial Daytona.

Thank you all! I have made a decision and pulled the trigger. Incoming on AP section shortly. It's NOT a 15400!

This is a great place to share ideas and shows the large variations in taste

To me I would take the Daytona in a heartbeat the AP does absolutely nothing for me but still huge congrats!

Interesting - I'm guessing the chrono version then.

Datty

I can't even see the registers well enough to time anything but she wears comfortable and is shiny as shat. I'd go with this now. It's the civilized thing to do.

AP is an easy choice for me. Check out the 15450 if you want something similar in size to the daytona.
