At a Cracker Barrel...

Many years ago, before the 1000% rise of scammers, I saw a listing for a 2-line Sub. New seller on TRF had posted it. I picked a midway spot between us - at an exit on the Interstate with a Cracker Barrel.

Had a nice breakfast with he and his wife, inspected the watch, handed them the cash and was home by lunchtime.

Ahhh...those were the days...

Best thread in a looooong time. The most interesting thing I can offer is that I fretted over and paid a whopping $2400 for my F serial 14060 in 2005 from seller ROBROBIN. How times have changed. My dad happily wears that now.

I actually go into his shop since I like to look around. But my first deal with David was in a car at a hotel parking lot in Ocoee Fl. That seems like such a long time ago now.

In the back of a cheese shop. I gave him half the cash took the watch to my watchmaker to inspect it and went back to gave him the other half once it all checked out. One of the best deal I had on a watch too.

Meat cutting room at local supermarket. Beat up two tone blue Sub from a meat cutter, which I had brought back to life.

Gas station parking lot.

But for full disclosure I met a friend at a gas station because he was walking his dog when I called him near his home.

What's the weirdest place you purchased a Rolex?

6 new from ADs since 1989, one used Polar Exp 2 online and virtual maybe 15 years ago that I didn’t keep long. I like the new experience :)
