Closer than I expected it to be.. I was thinking more of 1:4 ratio for black to white. Regardless of the results I think both are nice and the value proposition is outstanding at MSRP. The last few thousands (+/- 3K?) in price difference doesn't really make a difference once its double MSRP.

It seems that the Daytona effect has fully transferred to the Tudor BB Chronograph as well. White Dial seems to be more popular than the black once again, though I ordered a black one for myself.

This doesn’t make any sense, unless Rolex have made 9x more white than black, which they haven’t. It would make sense if there were a load of black dial sitting on AD shelves gathering dust, but there isn’t. Unless i guess when you say ‘in the wild’ you mean on the wrists of celebs and influencers, in which case you’re probably right.

But in terms of the question, i originally ordered white, but then saw the black and bought the black. The white is more of a statement and a smarter watch in my view, but the black suits my style more. So, time over, I’d buy black again.

It comes down to personal preference for sure.

It's the white dial for me, it's the more versatile choice in my opinion. Pairing well with casual, smart casual, and maybe even formal clothes. It also has more of a resemblance to the coveted Paul Newman, and just feels like more of an "original Daytona" than the black version. The white dial is also more legible. I know someone who owns the black dial and he says he much prefers it, and I go along with his agreement, but in reality I'd take the white dial over it any day.
