I have a 36mm day date and have a 6.75 wrist. It's all in taste. Rolex has made that mm size since the 80s, if it worked then it can still work now.

That thing is a stunner!

Totally agree. 36mm is classic. The 2nd runner up to the DJ41 I ordered was the 36. It's a great size and looks good on any wrist in my opinion. I love both sizes equally.

The deciding factor wasn't because I preferred one size over the other; it was the movement, believe it or not.

Congrats, OP! Love that dial. I almost went for a similar one in black (I believe they call it the tuxedo.)

Wear it well!

The DJ41 in SS and gold is something I am going to add to my collection very shortly. I just want one more AP before doing so and then it's that and the panerai 510. Good choice as well in the DJ41. Wear it in good health.

Nice! I did SS in smooth, oyster, rhodium. Favorite configuration is in two-tone with the slate/roman dial. The fine green trim around the numerals is subtle, but striking to me at the same time.

Anyway, I don't want to hijack this thread. It lands on Tuesday. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the kind wishes! I do believe you are correct, the black and silver dial is referred to as "tuxedo"... not sure if the same nickname holds for this particular dial as there is no black; in my head I call it a sector dial. In fact the same day I first saw this DJ, I had my hands on the new JLC master date with sector dial. I had been eagerly looking forward to seeing this watch in the flesh but alas when it was on my wrist, it felt cheap and there was no wow moment .... the complete opposite of when I tried on this DJ 36.

So true. Any time I try on a DJ36, I feel like it's too small. But when I see someone wearing one, it looks perfectly fine.
When I'm not wearing my GMT IIc, I wear a Tank Francaise. While I love the watch, it feels tiny compared to the Rolex.

I felt the same way for a while , but when I saw this particular one I just took the plunge. It had more wrist presence than the older 5 digit datejusts and didn't seem quite as small. I think the dial color and pattern plus the fluted bezel makes it seem less small as well.

With your hairy arm, you'd still look masculine even with a 31

You should see my poor brother-in-law's arm! His hair nearly covers his AP RO.

Looks perfectly fine. Subjective opinions on masculinity of the piece are always confusing. If you feel it is what you like, let no one elses opinion change that. There will always be people for/against any model variant you select. Im learning that the hard way.
