Put me in the [apparently] minority group of members of this forum that actually *prefers* the current super case, and I don't see them messing with that so soon after its recent introduction. I tend to think they will move the Sub Date to the 3235 and that's about it. Personally, I'd love to see a "cyclops-less" version at some point, but I don't think that will ever happen; the cyclops is part of the Sub Date's DNA, like it or not.

I can just see the Rolex execs sitting there thinking we have the pro and sports lines selling like hot cakes and we can’t make em fast enough, and customers are clamoring for the SS models like the sub. Mmm, what shall we do? Oh yes let’s change the product?

I always liked the Sub. When they came out with the super case, I loved it. And, it has taken me until now to realize it is really the Sub I want. So I have ordered the 114060. I would rather be certain and have this current model, than wish I had ordered it if they change the case again. However, all I really believe they will do is update the movement. But who knows? Usually, by this far into the New Year, Rolex has come out with at least a small teaser of what is to come. I am anxiously waiting to find out.

Cheers,
Carl

I have been on the waiting list for a Sub since November 2018. If a new model comes out do I need to be in a new list at the AD and start over?

You should not worry! You personally won’to posses a Rolex! You simply preserve a turn for your son!

I was in the same boat, before I had my 114060 my greatest fear was that Rolex was going to change it.

Did I stutter and say GMT instead of Sub?

We're definitely going to see maxi maxi lugs - the case will just be a rectangle.

My prediction, and I am often right, is a new sub date with no cyclope to differentiate it from last Year Seadweller cyclope...lol

Or case inflation. As if the Sub with a 1000ft rating isn't enough...

The deepest commercial dive is around 2000 feet and that was saturation diving so that might a give a helium escape valve a workout. Even though technically they are starting to substitute hydrogen for helium but I'm sure the valve would do it's job. Whatever that is.

But how about this monster.

51mm in diameter! It would sell like hotcakes. The only dive watch that doubles as a weight belt.

Absolutely terrible marketing. Who could possibly want a super absorbent dive watch?

Even if they did change it you would be able to get years of enjoyment out of your newly purchased 114060 before you could get a 2019 release at msrp given the current market. You made a good choice

This. Before I got my 114060, which I love, I was afraid they’d change it and raise prices. So no matter what comes out of Basel, I’m happy.

If that’s the case, then I am glad I got my sub last year. I am a big fan of the thicker lugs
