New Submariner Line coming Basel 2019...

Rumours are that there is a new Submariner line coming at Basel 2019 with new movement and some minor cosmetic changes....
Fingers crossed

I think so too, probably a 41mm with normal lugs. As the Sd43 increased in seize I think the sub will also. I see a trend

The reason people are going crazy about being unable to buy Rolex is partly because the brand’s popular stainless watches retain decent value. One of the reasons they retain decent value is because the Sub or GMT you buy today looks very much like the Sub or GMT your dad bought 30 years ago.

They don’t follow trends. The SD43 was a major change to a line of watches that historically sold in very small numbers and was, to the casual observer at least, not very far removed from the Sub, so it is the exception rather than the rule.

So whilst it’s not impossible that Rolex will substantially alter the Sub, I’d be astonished if they did. The super case was their concession to the apparent trend of enlarging watches, I wouldn’t bet on another concession for a while.

Rumors, rumors, rumors.

I’d be surprised if they increased the size of the Sub. They sell every single one at 40mm.

Regardless, I’m incredibly pleased with the one I just got and will have no buyers remorse if there was a size change.

Which there won’t be.

I'll be honest...a new movement and some minor cosmetic changes would not get my motor going. Just my two cents.

How quickly are the new models available at ADs after release at Basel? Is the old model withdrawn straightaway or maybe there is some time overlap when old and new ones are available in parallel?

Well, I admit that I am dying to know what Rolex is going to do this year. I'm gonna sit back, and not bet on anything, though. The one thing I am pretty certain about is that most models, including the Sub, will get the newest movements. I really do wish they would put out a teaser or something, though! Usually by this time of year there is at least that.

Cheers,
Carl

I hope they dont increase the size of it - thats what the SD43 is for in my eyes.

The sub at its current size is perfect - maybe slimmer lugs and a new movement with 70+hrs reserve and thats about it.

I believe that the most we'll see will be the implementation of the new movement and maybe a RG PM model.

Typically if it does happen, it will be the PM first, then TT then SS, the only exception to this of the professional line is the Daytona.

Usually 3-6 months. If they release a new sub you had better have a great relationship with an AD or it will be 3-6 years before you will get your hands on one. Yes, there will be a few in the pipeline, but those are likely already spoken for.

Yes. The option to add an OF band would be nice too.

I see a trend, too. The GMT didn't change, and neither will the Sub.

⬆️⬆️⬆️Agree.... maybe new movement, or possibly a different version, (ss blue dial) but a new revamped case.....I doubt it.
But......never know with Rolex

You'll never see a SS Sub with a blue dial unfortunately. It's one of the things Rolex has to do to distinguish SS from PM. It'll never happen.
