Been wearing Rolex for 30 years and never, ever got a comment outside of a watch store.

Until until last week. A precocious 12 year-old kid took a look at my DSSD and asked me, straight into my eye, "Is that really a sub-ma-reener?" Kid'll be a WIS for sure....

I had a colleague at work today noticed my 16710. We were speaking at the counter while filling our coffee cups. I kept seeing him glace at my wrist... then he asked about it. I showed it to him and his eyes went into amazement . "Beautiful watch...... THAT'S REAL!" he said. He then told me that he was going to show me what his wife gave him for his birthday, a Fossil. But he stated that his Fossil couldn't compare to a Rolex.
To save him from embarrassment in front of a group and to give his wifes gift 'meaning', I told him his quartz watch keeps better time.?

He still wanted to try it on. I saw the GMT smile at him when he closed the clasp."

That's weird I do the samething too, when others say " and all I got is this ( guess, fossil ) watch .I thought I was the only one.

This is not to be taken as an insult. But, why would you not wear your PAM outside?

Some years ago I bought one of the those Seiko "monster" divers watches off ebay. An automatic with an orange dial and heavy ss band. HEAVY is the word. The orange was very noticeable, but the watch would wear your wrist out if you wore it all the time. But a great watch. I sold it on ebay for more than I paid. Don't have a pic anymore. Seiko makes a heck of a nice watch. The inventor, I guess, of quartz movements, which caused a big ruckus in Switzerland.

Every time I look in the mirror, I shout, " Wow! Nice Rollie dude.., You my dear sir are STYLIN!!!".... Then there's awkward silence in the Men's room till I leave.

You should have given him a light flick round the ear for disrespecting your DSSD

I am surprised a 12 year old kid actually recognised your watch although not quite correct but very close

Indeed this may be an odd reply - however in wearing likely 20+ really nice timepieces over the years...and now being semi retired - I get more comments and compliments about wearing NO WATCH AT ALL then when I had $10K + strapped to my wrist...go figure...I like the freedom - others wonder how I pull it off in this day and age of the endless depths of information technology.....

Only remarks I've gotten about my DJ are people asking if it is fake. Not sure why people assume that it's fake first verse being real. I guess maybe it's because they would never spend as much on a watch as a Rolex is worth. Or maybe they're a little jealous and want to sort of feel cool by calling you out on your "fake" Rolex.

Honestly, I got the most compliments on my LV classic when I wore it. Something about the green caught people's eyes.

The only watch that I have ever garnered a compliment on:

As a rule, I really don't like to attract attention to the watch I'm wearing, but the size and complexity of Breitling dials makes that difficult at times.

The Rolexes go unnoticed...

In all these years of wearing Rolexes I can't recall anyone ever commenting. I've definitely noticed some guys (never any women) checking out my wrist but that's all. One time someone commented on my Seiko Monster.

Like so many of the posts on here, my Exp II goes unnoticed. Had one comment only over the last 18 months but not that that bothers me in the slightest. Going for a s/h strapped YG Daytona 116518 at the end of this year. Bet that gets noticed!
