Icon20 Interesting fact about Rolex that i have come up with>>

hey guys, i was doing some research on all currentRolex models.. and i have found out an interesting fact.. Rolex uses digits 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9 on the end of the model number to specify the type of metal its using.. for example 16610.. so the last digit which is o means its a SS model.. so lets begin

number ending 0.. means SS model
number ending 1 .. means TT everose model
number ending 2..means its a Rolesium the Yacht master model...
number ending 3.. means normal TT model
number ending 4.. means SS with WG bezel
number ending 5.. means an everose model
number ending 6..means its a platinum model
number ending 8..means its a YG model
number ending 9..means its a WG model..

try it..

I think it's funny that none of these references seem to include "7" for the bezel type...

which is (drum roll please) BARKED!

I love ROLEX minutiae!!!

Thanks Yazan.

I have that book...but have not memorized the pages yet. I am really looking forward to the Submariner Story by Mondani. Yes...I plunked down the cash for it. Oh well. I love Subs and this will help me plan my Vintage / Grail search.

It is now.

In 1968, 1603 meant an SS engine turned bezel DateJust. 1601 had a gold fluted bezel.

When did the current reference designation begin?

Ah! But... 7 for a bezel could mean "Other..." since the Explorer II is 16570
Model: 165, Bezel: 7, Material: 0 (stainless steel).

The odd thing is that the Explorer is 14270 (or 114270 in the new system), but wouldn't the bezel be "0: Polished"?
