Bezel polish repair on Yacht Master

Friends referred a guy (I know..lesson learned!!) to polish and remove some light scratches on my 05 Yacht Master. Get the watch back and discover the indented part of the bezel between 10 and 12 was inadvertently "polished". In other words, the satin finish is not consistent. The guy is apologetic and takes watch back to workshop to re-evaluate.

i have concluded that I need to get the watch back from him asap but need some suggestions on how to get repaired.

Get it back from that hack and send it to RSC Dallas for a service. I think only Rolex has the special eqp. to refinish a yachtmaster bezel. I've learned those hard lessons myself.

You haven't stated whether is the 16622 SS/Plat Yacht-Master, but I am basing my response on the fact that it is.

You need to jump on this situation IMMEDIATELY!

Only Rolex (Switzerland) has the machine to refurb a 16622 Yacht-Master bezel. I found this out in May 2008 when mine went in for service at Rolex Bexley (UK). They had damaged the platinum bezel and it had to be replaced. Rolex kindly replaced it with a brand new one, and they also do refurbs, hence me knowing the ONLY machine is in Switzerland.

You better get the watch back asap & tell the guy who damaged it, he better have deep pockets or insurance.

Prices as of May 2008 were:

Brand new: £1000 (sterling)
Refurb: £800 (sterling)

Good luck on this & please let us know how you get on.

If it is a 16622 Rolex will re-finish the bezel for a small amount. Why have anyone else try this? No one can refinish a Rolex like Rolex can. JMHO =) maverick
