2008 - What will you be wearing then ?

Its mid 2008 (ok, use your imagination).

JJ has obviously flipped both the TT Blue F Sub and its replacement and now has us all on tenterhooks over his impending new purchase.

Mike's vintage sport Rolex collection can now be seen from space.

Rolex has stunned us all at Basel 2007 by showcasing the new versions we had all heard rumours about.

The previous year has been kind to you, financially.

What changes to your collection (out and in) do you forsee?

Out: None.
In: The new 2 tone sub with the heavy clasp and redesigned case
In: The new SS GMT Master or the new EXP II with the above changes

For me,

1. I will have a Two Tone Datejust, one I purchase in 2006 or beginning of 2007.
2. I will be buying the new version of the Sea Dweller and maybe a two tone Submariner, with the modified case and the maxi dial, new bracelet, etc.
3. GMTII? The ss version might be part of my collection.

What I am wearing now, plus a Bark DD - if the planets align correctly and somehow I win the lottery that I never buy a ticket for.

I might just have a S/S new GMT II. Wouldn't mind a new Sub with Maxi dial too.

That's almost two years away. I hope to have a Platinum President by then. I'll give my SS GMT II to my little brother.

Well,...as I sit in front of my computer reading about JJ's ultimate Maxi-dial Submariner that he'll never flip I'm looking at the DRSD on my wrist wondering if I should wear the LV anymore since they've been discontinued.

Good point, most of them would say "seadweller.... I'm married to one"

So, I guess we should be happy to make that sacrifice and buy some when they come out (the watches...not the sea-dwelling partners)

Oh, and stay away from that door, you know how I feel about back-door shennanigans!

I'll finally decide that a Triplock maxi-case SS GMT II isn't going to get any cheaper and pick one up to cut my losses, along with a 116200 with the two-tone dial. I'll take a look at the Maxi Dial SD, decide that I've gotten accustomed to the face of my current SD and pass on a new one. The Seiko diver's will have to come off the winder to make space for the new additions.

Out with my ladies 2 year old Platinum Y Series gorgeous Yachtmaster due to it being a divorce asset that I have no need for....except to admire its beauty as it screams to be moved to a beautiful wrist somewhere....

In with a white faced TOG and a Black and Gold TT Sub, or a white SS Exp ll. I will keep my always beautiful black faced GMT, the greatest of them all.

Well, I slightly diverted my "collection" watch fund to buy the GO Senator Navigator and the Lange Ladies Arkade, but if I can get back on track with my savings/investments, I hope to purchase a Lange Datograph. If I'm blissful, I'll order the Platninum version. If I'm feeling frugal, then it's just the gold model. Gotta set goals in life, ya know.
