Original hands on this 5512?

I am tyrying to educate my eyes on vintage pieces .So here is a photo.They apprear to me as replacements hands.What is your opinion? Also is dial indexes touched up?

I would venture to guess that the hands have been replaced based on their color. As far as the dial, are you basing your guess on the puffy markers? If so, again, I would venture to guess that the dial has not been retouched and is original. I have a 5513 that has the same "puffy" markers.

Agree the hands and bezel insert are newer.

I wouldn't think the bezel insert is extremely new. The numbers are still fat. The lume dot looks newer than the insert to me.

This might help, my 62 5512 beside it. What year is yours, I think it must be after 63, as from what I understand, that was when the Superlative lines were added to the 5512 to differentiate it from the newly released 5513 which was none chronometer rated. The hands do look a wee bit different, perhaps re lumed. The dial lume is a hard one, looks pretty good, hard to tell, the colours on the lines seem to match the indices.

i dun know how you can tell by just looking that they are service hands.. But seriously does it makes alot of difference in resale value if they were service hands,dial etc..? (this sometimes i wonder)
