ETA 2824-2 Question
I recently acquired a B&M Hamilton Square. Being curious about its movement I asked B&M which movement it carried. They replied "ETA 2824-2 (h4)". I'm familiar with the ETA 2824-2 part, but what is the reference to (h4)?

That's a good question...perhaps it refers to a finish level?

I've been doing a lot of research on the internet the past few hours. You'd think there would be an easy explanation but so far I've not found a definitive one. I think it may have to do with a follow-on mod like when a software package has an update. Still looking and hoping someone out there can shed some light.

The only thing I've found would indicate that it (the H4) refers to the height of the cannon pinion...with H4 being the standard and H5 having a taller part.
Nothing I could find on the ETA site about it.
