I know it's not a ROLEX....
But this is still one amazing piece for any WIS. Just picked it up yesterday and thought this watch deserved some love even though alot would rather spend the money on another ROLEX.

Hey, so it's not a Rolex. I don't think that's a problem. I love watches.
Sure I have a Rolex in my collection, but I also have 2 Omegas, a Tag, a vintage Cyma, a Seiko (psycho) Sports 5 and various quartz watches. I think if you like a watch and enjoy wearing it, it's a watch that's worth owning. I don't buy many watches, but I don't flip them either. And by the way, I also like the look of your new Seiko. Is that a GMT hand on the watch? |

I love that Ananta Spring Drive Chronograph, but I'm sure this particular chronograph from Seiko is the one I'm gonna get.

I always liked Seiko. At least they are manufacture.
I have a Seiko Brightz high beat quartz that I am quite fond of. |

Good choice, I have one myself but with the deep blue dial. You can see the shading of the dial under different lighting which is very cool. The markers are very well polished and sparkling. You can even see a rainbow of colours on the markers under the sun. Cannot go wrong with the GS. Pricewise, it is not cheap but cheaper than Rolex. Qualitywise, it is better than the Rolex for sure. The black Ananta SD with straps is the limited edition 300 available only and is a nice looking watch even though it is not as exquisite as the GS. It is heavier than the GS with metal bracelets but with straps it is OK. However, the same movement and the same accuracy. The problem with the straps is that they will last for about 2 years only, you will need to find a replacement. Buying an expensive watch like the Ananta, one would want to retain the original I would have thought. Congratulations on the Ananta and the GS that you may purchase. The GS and the Ananta are different breeds from Seiko and should not be considered as "cheap" and "low quality". In fact, they are far better than Rolex. So if it is not a Rolex? So what? The GS is better ;)

Love that watch. Amazing technology.
My only beef with Seiko is that they make watches that cost anywhere from $100 to $5k. I still have the mental block trying to convince myself to spend anymore than a couple hundred bucks on one. |

The Seiko Ananta, Brightz (Japan domestic market range) and GS range are GREAT!
I was eyeing an Ananta and GS for a while. I'll probably add one to my collection on of these days.

AMAZING......i love that Seiko can kick ass at $100 all the way to $6000.
I love a watch which gets its reputation by pure ABILITY...and not just on a name or smart marketing. Love Ananta......it kind of shows everyone that Seiko have the resources do ANYTHING they want to do!!!!!! Intimidating for other Watch Makers.......Great for us Watch Lovers!!!!! |
