Just got my first Omega today! WOW!!

Just got my first Omega today. It's the Speedy Pro. 3570. This is my first high end time piece so it's quite a lot to take in. Not being from a wealthy background, it's quite a feeling of accomplishment to know I can afford something this nice. Shots to follow but just let me soak it in.

Thank you to the users in a previous thread that steered me toward the 3570 vs the 50th "patch".

Special thanks to Fr. John for getting me in touch with his AD. Easiest transaction possible and fabulous service. Thanks!!

Thanks all, pics will follow soon. Probably a silly question, but is there a method used to check if my Omega is keeping accurate time? Or is it taking note of the second hand at a particular time and comparing it to an Internet clock or something? Thanks for welcoming me into the club!

Great looking watch and congrats. As for keeping track of time, I always check my watches against the cell phone time.

Enjoy -

Congrats, I found one under my tree today and I am completely in love with it. Sounds like there won't be a Rolex on my wrist for some time, hard to beat the Speedy Pro.

Congrats! I am from similar background, and waited until I had finished law school (as a single parent) before I felt I had "earned" my Connie.

Wear in good health!

I am pleased with Omega products. Omega is a solid brand. I see myself buying more Omega products if Rolex continues to make their watches too expensive for what you get.
Congratulations on a very fine Swiss watch.

I too am from humble beginings, but my father always told me a "A man should always have a few nice suits, good shoes, and a good watch to present oneself well" and I feel he was right. Nothing is worse that seeing a guy wearing a $1200.00 suit, $200.00 tie, a bleached smile, and a Casio G-Shock on his wrist. A sure sign of having more money than class.
