A Christmas AD visit

Hi all! Earlier in the week, as I was finishing up my Christmas gift shopping, I found myself confronted by a mall advertisement for Mayor's, my AD of choice as well as the closest to me.

So, when I was done, my son and I dropped in for some broowsing and wishing. No, I didn't pull the trigger, but I was surprised to see they have increased their inventory. So much so they had two new TT Blue Submariners, one in the window and one in the display case. So, I tried it on and found its ceramic blue looks darker and much better in person. The Maxi Dial hour markers don't clutter things up like I thought they might. Nice! My wife likes it as well...

They also had an 18K WG Sub in stock. No pics, as they were already somewhat cagey and showed it to me in a private viewing room. Wow, its heavy! Quite a work of art, luxurious and functional.

They gave me a booklet from Watch Time magazine, highlighting test results from their Rolex articles over the past few years. I think it is the insert from the recent special edition, I am not a subscriber so I don't know for sure. I like it, too!

I was provided with some new information also: Rolex has stopped production of all Submariners with date, the mighty 16610 and 16610LV. Same goes for the Explorer and Explorer II! I was startled at first, but I guess deep down I knew it was coming. Once current stock is depleted, they are truly gone from retail shelves forever. The rep said Mayor's has six 16610's remaining in stock, company wide. Looks like Basel 2010 will have big news!!!

Hope you enjoyed the pics and Christmas, Happy New Year!
