What's with the blue dial? How does it work?
I absolutely love that watch. I don't think anyone walking the face of the earth wouldn't love that watch. If you don't mind a very indiscrete and tacky question.... what would one pay for a 1999 model of those?

The correct answer, I'm sure, is... a lot ! Think 10 to the 6th power as opposed to 4 or 5. But Sean will have a piece that he will wear and enjoy for the rest of his life, if he so chooses. I'm thrilled to see this happen for him !

The only reason for my imprudent question, is because this watch was discussed intensely on another thread and price came up and who would be allowed to buy the watch. So I just wanted to get an idea as to what the watch depreciated in 10 years and without the consent of the CEO of Patek. Otherwise, I would not have asked.

A watch of that calibre (and Lord knows what kind of 5-figure price?) should be treated with kid gloves!!

I first want to thank everyone for thier comments TRF is truly a lively forum that i enjoy being on and thanks to all that have weighed in on this thread! Secondly! who am i , just a hard working average individual just like everyone on this forum.. Trust me this watch dosen't define my existance! my being able to pass this down for future generations will. and to everyone else no matter if it's a watch or whatever grail you may aim for in your life, education combined with hard work will never i repeat never let you down. Just as sure as you are proud of me i am proud of each and everyone of you, have a great evening, Sean.. |

Nah, man, I don't buy it
"hard working average individual just like everyone on this forum" my arse. You don't see anyone else here buying a million-plus dollar watch! Plus - have Michael Moore as your close friend (not that I envy you because of that ). So - come clean, who the heck are you?

Nope. He doesn't have it - this is a joke. There are only two of these in the world, and neither of them are in Indiana.

Patek does not have a register open to the public stating who owns these pieces and where they are. One thing I have learned online is you never know who you are talking to... Perhaps we will see some wrist shots soon. If he is lying well thats just foolish as there is nothing to gain by telling a bunch of whackos like us he has a watch he doesn't.

So, no, you won't see any wrist shots. As stated, there are only two in existence. One is in the Patek Museum (I've seen it) and one was bought at an Antiquarium auction by a collector (who doesn't live in the midwest) whom I've met. That leaves zero Sky Moons in Indiana. You've been had. I'm frankly amazed anyone took this joke as seriously as people did.
