Which Sub? New (ish) or 'transitional' 168000?

I've been looking at a few of the "rare" transitional 168000's and wondering about the relative long term value and durability -

I've seen a couple which had recent RSC service and so inside they ought to be perfect.

Dollars to horse pucks, which would you all choose? A "Z" no lug SEL or a freshly serviced 168000?

168000 if the price is reasonable.

Certainly the short run 168000 though I'm not sure "transitional" best describes it.

True the watch represents the change from 316 SS used on the previous 16800 to 904 that continues on today in the modern versions, but the dial/movement (3035) are/were the same as used in the 16800
(the 3135 wasn't quite ready) which normally carries the name "transitional" as early examples used the matt dial sans WGs and the newly introduced fast beat 3035 movement. (among other things).

Perhaps the rarest is the matt dial 168000. Whether these were "born" that way or received later replacement dials is a point of arguement, but I'm aware of a couple that carry RSC paperwork and at least one respected collector states the watch came that way.

Again, the wonders of Rolex.

A 168000 is unique and interesting.. 16610's are a dime a dozen... but it's a personal choice..:)
