Service Advice Solicited for my father's TAG Heuer

My dad's TAG Heuer 2000 that he got about 10 years ago as an early retirement gift from his protege is starting to lose time. It's a quartz movement, and the battery has been replaced, but it is still losing ~30 sec/day, leading me to believe the mechanical part of the movement needs servicing. My dad resides primarily in the Bay Area, so anything local there is better. What should he expect a servicing would cost?

As an aside, I'm thinking of giving my Omega to him, either while he's having the TAG serviced, or permanently. I'm torn though, because he is very partial to his TAG Heuer, it being a gift and all.

Expect it to be expensive, an AD I know stopped selling TAG's because of the service costs.. When the watchs cost around 350 UKPounds, they wanted 50 to change a battery. (he could do it instore for 3ukp, albeit without the pressure test)..

So as a minimum get an estimate before you get the work done.

Dont know, but if he keeps it, get him a Cape Cod cloth and wipe that thing down. Will look brand new (his is a year or so newer than mine). mine now looks brand new.

service? um, methinks the last major service I had ran about $120, but that was some years back and included new batt and new seals. (I am not sure they were on the up and up with me, tho they were AD).

£50 to change the battery is about right from an AD - I'd hope that includes the pressure test.
The same procedure for my wifes seamaster AT was £55 in 08.
