Nakaya Pen

In a direct response to this excellent thread by shandy (Ian) http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=100822

I ordered a Nakaya pen from Classic Fountain Pens, Inc in LA, the transaction was an absolute dream, I heartily concur with Ian's recommendation of this superb company.

The pen itself is an absolute joy, beautiful classic simple lines with a rich deeeeeeep deep reddy black colour, superbly lacquered, it writes as smooth as a smooth thing, beautiful, I'm absolutely delighted.

On with some photos, Its raining cats and dogs outside and I cant find my table top tripod so there is some shake but I hope they illustrate the beautiful colours.

Came in a beautiful box with a mouth watering catalogue.

Inside the box was a silk sleeve containing the pen

I decided to specify no clip on the pen to keep the uncluttered lines of this long fountain pen

Some photos trying to show the colours.

The Nib

Congratulations Dave! That's is a beautiful, smooth-looking fountain pen!

By the look of the nib, I guess it is a B nib? I could be wrong

Extra Broad according to the marking on the nib.

Very nice

what Nib did you go with?

I also bought a pen from them from the contest, but went with a Pelikan M800 and love it! I got the Fine nib and it is still a little thick for me, but love the piston fill!

congrats, let us know how it writes!

Thank you very much for the very kind comments fellas, the nib is single colour 14k, double broad as sunbirst (Joji) discovered by the markings, I write with a medium pressure which seems to suit this size nib (for me that is), It really is a smooth writer with a nice amount of ink expelled during a single pass without any gaps in the line, I am really delighted.

HM Customs and Excise must have thought that I had been undercharged so added a decent amount of costoms duty to make up for it.
