Don't know much about Patek.. but Calatrava comes to mind... and my favorite is the Celestial 5102PR... but I have never looked at the price.. my guess is it is expensive..

aquanaut or nautilus models
Although I'd like to add that I would never make it to the Patek Philippe price stratosphere. There are just way too many great Rolexes along the way. |

I know they are amazing watches, but to me not worth the price sadly... |

Go for the Nauitilus 5711 or if you have a few more bucks to spend get the 5712 in steel
Tony (Just Rolexes) has a nice 5712 in the for sale section right now . If you want to buy from a AD the wait is very very very long ............. |

Bryan
Can you give us some idea as to what you would want from your Patek? Simple but Classic? = Calatrava Sporty? = Nautilus & Aquanaut Complicated? = World Timers, Annual Calendars, Perpetual Calendars & Chronographs (or a combination of both) Grand Complication? = Tourbillon, Minute Repeater, Celestial, Sky Moon, or a combination of Tourbillon, Minute Repeater & Perpetual Calendar. I think that the last time, I saw a Celestial the price was in the area of £140,000

An aquanaut or a Calatrava would be the first choice. Or maybe an old vintage piece for a similar price. One of the re-cased pocket watch movements/dials would be interesting and have a lot of history.

For a sporty look, anytime anywhere watch, I'll say any Aquanaut
But, I do like the newer one, the 5167/1A. Affordable first Patek IMHO. It would certainly grab my attention anytime, anywhere Rob

Just want to share that 5711 and 5712 don't seem to be in short supply any no longer. Last week, I was offered both 5712 and 5711 at the NorCal AD (both at retail - but no taxes).
Right after Christmas, I saw the same thing in NY, couldn't believe it. Better yet, I saw 5711G as well. All of these models had a 6 month waitlist in 2008. |
