I'm... I'm... I'm just a little shaky....

Trying... trying to hold it together...

My Daytona has been running fast for.. well, forever. Right around 5 seconds a day, ( I can hear Larry right now... that is 999.99994% accurate!... agreed Larry but it bugged me)... It has been in for regulations at the AD but it consistently kept it's time of + 5 seconds a day.

A couple weeks ago it was in the AD for a couple days for it's annual inspection, (required so the AD extends the warranty an extra year), and the watchmaker said he too, found it as running exaclty 4.8 seconds a day fast. He's a perfectionist, (kind of like me), and has a passion for making a Rolex it's absolute best. So he said to me: "Let me keep it for a week, maybe ten days, maybe two weeks, check it every day, adjust it a couple times, I'll get it to the most accurate setting possible." It... it sounded good... at the time anyway....

So... So... I dropped it off at the AD's earlier today... and... and I made them promise it would have a warm place to sleep at night.. and they would read to it... I've already called a couple times and they held it up to the receiver of the phone so it could hear my voice and not get too anxious... I'm just... I'm just .. a little .... shaky now... and I'm wondering.. how.. HOW will I make it through the next two weeks!?!?!?

Definitely time for another Rolex to occupy the time. I'd be the same way, but if he is as big of a perfectionist as it sounds like, you should be good to go....

You have done the right thing by starting a thread. In situations like yours, we need to stand together and help each other trough difficult times. When my Sub was in for repair, TRF really stepped up and helped me through almost three weeks without it. A lot of members posted pictures that I looked at every day to help soothe the pain.

So what do you say guys: Let's see those Daytona pics to help ourfriend here through a difficult period?

I felt the same way when I sent mine off for service. Only 1 Rolex so I went Rolex-less for 6-7 weeks. I don't know how I made it.

I just saw your watchmaker having a few beers at the bowling alley. Damn nice Daytona he had on, he even got a strike with it when it flew off of his wrist and slid all the way down the lane...

Someone get Paul a drink... Paul, Paul Listen to me buddy, she'll (or he'll) be fine... I've talk with my friends in the "Cossa Nostra" and some of my friends are right now at the watchmakers making him to take your Daytona as the Numer One Priority. She'll be done sooner that you think! Now, how's about that drink?

If it comes back accurate to the second, you'll be very pleased and sure you made the right decision.

If it comes back accurate to the second, but he tells you to leave it on the windowsill if you're not wearing it, as opposed to the winder....

.....you'll know he swapped out your movement for a G-shock movement and sold the Rolex parts to repair shops overseas.

Wow, that's really odd - this morning I got a call from an AD in San Diego. I had been on a waiting list for a Daytona for a while.
He said that "One just came in this morning!!"

JUST TEASING -I had to keep the tongue and cheek thread going.

I am sure you will be fine without it for a week, and I am sure they are tucking it in with "good night moon" each night!

I love threads like this - I know it's totally normal to have Rolex withdrawal.

-Pete
