hello everyone!
im new here... i want to buy my first rolex but i have heard and talked to Rolex NYC about the SUB and they have told me that the new one will be arriving on FEB 2010.

is it real? or it will be announced on Basel month later?

It will cost a deal more then the sub now costs..thats for sure...
Feb is wishfull thinking....wait and see thats all we can do...Availibility depends on where your located as well. Here in the netherlands we get the new versions later then released in the us..sometimes much later depending on watch brand..

I would put the deposit down now and make sure your AD is able to present you with a new SS cersmic Sub in Feb 2010. If not, then I think it is fair for them to give it to you for free.... ;-)

Usually, if new watches are shown at Basel, you should be able to buy them at around sept-ish....

Ton of info on the Ceramic bezel.

Has been discussed a fair bit. You can do a search here for much more:

As for whether it'll look better, that's a matter of opinion. I think the ceramic bezel gives a more dressy appearance, and I prefer the look of them to the old aluminium inserts. However, the bulked up maxi-case is going to divide opinion - I like the chunkier feel to maxi cases, but many will miss the sleek lines of the 16610. We don't know whether it'll have polished centre links yet either, and that too could be a deal breaker.

the ceramic will be 100% same including the number on it as the GMT?

Well first would doubt if the like you call it 2010 sub would arrive at ADs till a few months after Basel. And expect the movement will be the same as the old sub perhaps the in-house hairspring but thats no big deal IMHO.So we might have a slightly different case plus a ceramic insert and a glide-lock bracelet clasp, hardly a new sub just a slightly modded old one.

It'll be the same ceramic but with diver's markings, and as I've said many times, the rumours about the fragility of the bezel have been greatly exaggerated. The ones that have broken have been subjected to such a high level of abuse that no bezel could withstand it. Nothing's perfect, but I can guarantee that ceramic is a massive improvement on the aluminium bezels

If you are referring to the font on the bezel, here is an 18K Sub with a ceramic bezel (picture *borrowed* from e-bay):

yeah... the band is different too... i really think that im waiting for it but when it will go out (the new model) the old model will go out of stock and i will have only option to buy used one...
im reading the discussion about the ceramic and it sounds not good at all...
maybe rolex doing it because the SUB now is the best watch ever that do not broke ever, no repair and no nothing, rolex loosing lot of money..
is that the reason?
