Rolex 2010 price increase?
Will there be a price increase in the USA soon? If so when will it occur?
I just special ordered a watch and the place couldn't guarantee that the price wouldn't change during shipping, in which case I would have to pay the increase in price or get a refund. Of course, if the price doesn't go up, then there is no issue... Thanks. |

I'm not sure if anyone knows the answer to that question. I'm in the same situation, I have a watch on order from a seller here at TRF. I've made a deposit, but we didn't discuss what would happen if a price increase happened before I actually received the watch.

Only the Rolex gods know, although some people have mentioned something about a price adjustment in the UK......not sure if it went up or was just adjusted to their VAT (value added tax).

Nobody really knows the answer to that question.....
There have been some price adjustments throughout the world lately; probably as adjustments to the strength of that countries currency.. This close to the release of Rolex new models at the Basel Fair in March; it is not likely for the next couple of months (although there have been February increases in the past)....but come April 1st, there will be prices associated with the new releases, and then too, any adjustments to other models as well...

Once Rolex USA ships out the watch an invoice is sent as well to the AD. If the price changes after it ships and is enroute to the AD it should not affect the price of your watch.

I would have thought that once you enter into a contract with the seller at an agreed price then that price is locked in.

I've heard of this when you go on the "list" and put down a deposit--the dealer can't lock in his price if he doesn't know when the watch will ship. Once you've paid the dealer and he's locked in his cost, however, there's no reason why any subsequent increase should affect you. If it happens, tell him you're not paying--see if he wants to lose cash on the spot and eat a special order over a few percentage points.

There was a price rise in the UK on 1st Jan it was just VAT going back up from 15% to 17.5%.
