Perks of the Job? (semi-political)

So, since we Americans just heard the POTUS give his annual State of the Union address, a thought occurs to me, as it often does when I see any head of state, or for that matter, a movie in which a head of state is a character....

What would be your fav perk to being a head of state, eg POTUS, PM, King, whatever?

My thought is: free jet!

(thought I hate flying actually, and I am skipping the helicopter, thank you very much)

Then again, work comes with you in the form of press corps and staff. Ummm, maybe not so much?

A question: When you leave 1600 Penn Ave or 10 Downing St, do you get to keep the towels?

Though I wouldn't mind being "in charge", I'm pretty sure I wouldn't enjoy the constant media scrutiny that comes with being head of state of a major country. Much rather be ruler of a small but wealthy kingdom, where I could live like a king without having to answer a lot of nuisance inquiries, like "did you pay your taxes ?", or "how many concubines are you maintaining ?" or "how did you get rid of Barzini ?"

You can bet there are one or two chomping at the bit to make air their manifestos here.

I'm supposed to close these down in their infancy but I've got faith that we'll keep this one smelling of roses all the way through.

Good old irrational dumb blind faith.

Speaking of "Barry" the POTUS; he's flying into Tampa this morning. Air Force One usually flies over my house on the way to MacDill AFB. I'm ready with my Canon 7D. I wonder if he'll be waving out the window as he crosses over? (yeah, didn't think so either)

Steve, it's always an impressive sight. My wife and I watched as Marine One flew over our house last summer.

Having a Press Secretary!

There are some sports notables who should have press secretaries; Tiger Woods, Chad Ochocinco, Mark McGwire, Brett Farve, etc,

Damn, I need a press secretary!

Question is: if you're the decoy and someone shoots at you, does the Secret Service jump in front of you???

Personal chef. Add a personal bartender to that. That's pretty much it. I'll be full and drunk as my nation burns to ashes.

I want a presidential Rolex! I think a gold submariner with the presidential seal presented to me by the secretary of the Navy would be nice for starters!
