Icon20 Boschett Cave Dweller - a proper tool watch

Just got this in the mail this morning and thought I would share some quick photos. All I can say is that for $440 (MSRP), this thing is built like a watch costing 10x that much. Unreal. Check out that micro-adjust dive-clasp! Very similar to the DSSD! I need to size the bracelet which will be a pain in the ass, but I am a very happy camper so far.

Vitals:
Width - 44mm w/o crown
Height - 16.5mm
Lugs - 22mm
Movement - Miyota 8215

I realize this is a lot bigger than most of you would ever dream of wearing, but those that have wrists larger than 13 year old girls may want to gie this a try ;) Thoughts??

Here are more shots if you're interested: http://picasaweb.google.com/zirotti/Boschett#

Some comparison shots with my DSSD...

I think the blue seconds hand and black bezel really make this watch pop. It's the only Boschett I think I like.

It's a handsome watch. The dial reminds me of an SMP. But zinging people who don't have "manly" wrists like you ain't helping you make your case.

Haha, I should have know that of all people, you would take offense to something like that ;) And I don't think it has anything to do with "manly" wrists. There are a couple gentlemen on here that have wrists MUCH larger than mine that prefer 36mm watches. To each their own!

And I am not a lawyer, hence I have no case to make :)

Given that I have been able to refrain from replying to about 25 of your posts, I think I'm doing pretty good, Jason!

Where is this watch made? It is striking looking, albeit too thick for my tastes.

I believe in NY.

Also, they will be offering ETA 2824s soon, but I've had zero issues with any Miyota movement watch I've owned.

this is model is made in China using Japan automatic movement
this company also makes SWISS MADE models.

I like these internet watch companies who are able to offer very nice products at fair prices.

That's an impressive chunk of SS, although at 44 mm diameter it's not especially wide. Looks like it has its own version of the Glidelock clasp

Cheers

It is nice that they will offer it with the ETA 2824-2...but when...?
If so, which grade: Standard, Elaborated or Top class.
Even better, I wonder if they will ever offer it with the ETA 2892 movement....?

* the Standard grade is adjusted in two positions with an average rate of +/-12 seconds/day, with a maximum daily variation of +/-30 seconds/day;
* the Elaborated grade is adjusted in three positions with an average rate of +/-7 seconds/day, with a maximum daily variation of +/-30 seconds/day;
* while the Top grade is adjusted in five positions with an average rate of +/-4 seconds/day, with a maximum daily variation of +/-10 seconds/day.

Just emailed Keith @ Boschett. The New Cave Dweller-S (with the ETA 2824) will be in next week. He told me: "The ETA is ellaboree grade but with better Incabloc shock protection" Only 50 ordered and some already gone.

its sharp, not my taste but sharp. It epitomizes "chunky". If it weren't so thick I might be interested but top hats on bracelets make it hard for me access certain itchy areas

I know I know TMI

IMO, unless you are going to get a COSC certified movement, getting Swiss just to get a Swiss movement is not worth the premium. The Miyota in mine is currently keeping time with 5/secs a day which is fantastic.

BTW, another obligatory wristie...
