GMT2c TT matter of trust

Dear Members,

I personally own a Sub Date SS (V Serial), but after reading day after day threads in this forum, I'm now also addicted to GMT2c SS and TT.
Today I find online a GMT2c TT and also talked with seller on mobile.
Its really a good price compared to AD.
He also published photos with serial number and he is indicating even the protectors are on it.
What do you think, according to your experiences.
Should I trust and buy or wait to buy from AD?
Thanks in advance for your kind replies.

Good things to ask is where the seller acquired the watch and why are they selling the watch.

Thats a tough call,
some of us prefer to buy from AD's and others here on the TRF site.
I have a great AD whom i have done outstanding business with for the last three years. I also have a great grey market dealer. I would definitly also buy here on the forum if the sellers were located in europe instead of the states.. the import duties are just to high to make it worthwhile.
I would say buy from the seller (trusted) who can give you the best deal...
That does not certainly exclude AD's. The last watch i bought was cheaper through the AD then the grey market....If you do buy from the AD, you can usually count on great service....Two weeks ago I brought my favorite watch in for a service...after a quick phone call to connections at the service center, he assured me it would be done promptly.. Well two weeks to the day I received a call from the AD (today) My watch is waiting for me to pick it up!!! Thats the service that I expect from them!

It all depends on who seller is. Is he a trusted seller on TRF? There are a lot of scammers out there right now. Careful...

We don't know who the seller is, so we can't make any decision. Get it checked out in person before you purchase or verify his references.

I think buying from an AD can be a cool experience. I will never forget the three times I did so. My AD has a "special room" where you can sit and look the timepiece over with your loupe. Check the dial carefully as mistakes can occur. Check the hand alignment at 12:00 and the bezel. Have them add or remove a link, as required. Anything you don't like, as to see another. It can be great fun. Sending money to a stranger and hoping you get a Rolex in the mail...hummm????

Prof, please take a moment to read my thread

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=112034

In my particular case, it was SO good that I bought from and am being taken care of my AD. If I had bought this watch from a Gray... well, I'd be having all kinds of problems...

Having said that, I know, first hand, that several TRFers have had nothing but exceptional experiences with some of the sellers on here. Have you tried talking to Moscco, DavidSW, TempoKing, SteveMullholand, and the rest of the great sellers on this sight? I'd highly reccomend checking with them on possible deals.

Thanks Richard! I hate seeing people get robbed of their hard earned money--and sadly it is a daily event lately!!!

Final decision

Thank you all for your messages.
Now I will be more carefull. Im not going to buy online.
I will contact with dealer from his mobile, as he is also living in Istanbul as I am, I will meet with him and make all these controls. If I will be convinced, I ll buy otherwise I have to wait for another Hong Kong trip (as I have bought my Sub Date from an AD in Hong Kong) or buy from an AD in Turkey.
Thanks and kind regards,
