From my lovely Mrs. Santa.....

Thought I'd share how lucky and fortunate I have been in finding the perfect lady. Last year we were engaged, and she mentioned that she wanted to get me an engagement ring, but I'm not a ring wearer, beyond a wedding ring that is. And that was pretty much the end of that conversation, or so I thought.

One year to the date, Christmas to be precise, she presents me with my gift, stating that I can only accept it if I promise to tell her that if I don't like this one, we can go exchange it for a different model. Handing me a big red box, I open up the lid to find a few reams of tissue paper and nestled in the middle a Rolex box. Brand spanking new Rolex Sub-V!!! with an engraved box! To say I was flabbergasted is an understatement. She then told me that everytime she glances down at her ring during the day, she thinks of me and she wanted to get something for me that had the same effect. Needless to say, it does..... So we've decided now to refer to it as the "engagement ring". I am so lucky to have her in my life.

Here's a photo, set against my TRF posting of my recently serviced GMT. I guess the GMT will be the "wedding ring".

Very lucky indeed, Doug!

There should be a new rule: engagement rings for the women, and engagement Rolexes for the men.

Same deal I did with my wife. Also means you can never sell that watch. Promotes the need for a larger winder.

Congrats!

That is a perfect idea. Maybe it will catch on.

Thanks everyone for all the great comments and congrats.... We're looking at this coming September to officially tie the knot. She is absolutely the most perfect lady I've ever known!!! And yes I agree, this should be a new rule, "engagement Rolexes for the men"

BTW....the "anchor" in the picture was not included, but nevertheless symbolic about how strongly attached to each other we've become. Completes the set don't you know.

Can you please post some pics of the ring bearer walking down the isle with your wifes ring and the Rolex on the little pillow?

Great wife! Mine chose a ring as well...
