Randy,

I flush my well used pens about every other fill. Just a habit, but has served me well over the years.

It seems to keep the reservoir clean and rid of sediments.

Just draw them full of clean warm (NOT HOT) water and flush them until they run reasonably clear.

Does it maka difference if I use just tap water vs say neutralized??

For thorough cleaning, or for pens that have sat idle for a while, a dilute household ammonia solution works well to really clean out old "gunk", too.
