Hello everyone!

My name is Thom. I am new to this site, and it is actually my 1st watch forum. I am excited to learn, and browse all of these gorgeous watches. I like many of you am obsessed with watches. Though i am young (24) I am thinking about making my 1st "real" watch purchase!

I love rolex daytona's white and black faces, I have saved to purchase 1 of these as my 1st watch. I love them so much that I have 4 quality fakes of this watch :) and now it is time for the real deal!

I am interested to learn about watches I am not familiar with, and hope to grow a taste for all varieties. As i said previously I am about to make my 1st watch purchase and start what I hope to build a very admirable collection over the years, and pass on to my children and grandchildren.

I am also a fan of breitling, panerai, cartier, corum, tag.

I am open to peoples opinions on watches, and other brands I may have never heard of. As I said I am young and excited to learn.

First and formost, if education is what you want, you'll get it here. There is no failing grade! Read and you will become a small expert, and then as time goes on, a big expert!

Some things to consider (all from my experience):

Careful with telling folks around here about your "fakes" You could get e-lynched!
This is a word of advice. If it was practicle, I'd tell you to take off the letters F, A K, and E off of your keyboard!

Try your best not to take things personally, even if they sound like they are direct or insulting, and if you feel that way, report it. (lesson learned personally)

People here are genuinely nice and want to help, but they seem very dug into their feelings on many things.

Read through the forum and search for things before asking questions, or posting threads, it may save you misunderstandings (read advice on people getting upset and being direct)

All in all, BEST FORUM ON THE NET, HANDS DOWN!
Welcome, and I hope you get that Daytona soon and post pictures!!

Thom, welcome to TRF. Hopefully you can very soon post a comment like: "I like Rolexes so much that I got rid of my fakes."

I agree with some of the other comments about fakes - you don't make a lot of friends in here with fakes. And with fakes, I think you have to ask yourself who it really is you are fooling?

But welcome to the best watch forum out there.
