This one may not get any support from you guys...
... but I still keep thinking about getting a TT GMT IIC, and putting a SS bracelet on it to tone it down a bit. And also to save myself from the annoying scratches due to the soft metal (YG) PCL.
I came up with a quick & dirty Photoshop job to demonstrate my theory. I'm not good in PS, so please forgive the quality issues and the weird details on the PCL. If anyone can come up with a better quality PS job, please post here, I'd really appreciate it. Also, post here your thoughts about this combo. I know it won't get many fans, but I thought if it's not inappropriate to put a Jubilee bracelet on a GMT IIC, then this one should also survive a ban BTW, how much is a factory SS GMT IIC bracelet incl. the clasp? I'd put it in the ballpark of USD 1500-2000. |

It doesn't look as bad as I would have thought.

I don't know if I like it. The balance between SS and gold is off. SS is overpowering the gold. I say save your money and keep the TT bracelet on there.

You're better off buying a SS GMT and getting a TT bezel.

I thought about that as well, but the YG hands and surrounds are an interesting subtlety.

IMO a TT GMTIIC on leather strap would probably look classier....

Let me second that, if you're looking to change up the TT bracelet.

Wouldnt it make more sense to buy a SS GMT-IIc and then the replacement bezel? With the costs of the watches differing greatly, is seems as that would be the logical way to proceed.

I actually think your mock up looks pretty damned good! I like the subtle look of the gold on top of the SS bracelet. And of course, this is YOUR watch... the only persons opinion who matters is yours!
That being said... I def vote for getting the SS model and purchase the gold bezel separately! |

Yeah it doesn't look as bad but the balance of the gold bezel and SS PCL seems abit off.

The brushed rehaut area of the watch head and brushed area of the bracelet tie the whole watch together nicely in your PS pic. Two-tone doesn't look right on me, so this would be a great alternative for me as well if I were looking at the TT GMTIIc.
Go for it! Blaine |

Not for me--again though I am a stock kind of guy--original for my taste--But not my watch so if it works for you so be it-go for it.

It looks ok but the PCL's on the SS will scratch easially enough also - if u're that concerned about it better to get the SS and get the PCLs brushed... or wear it on a NATO

SS PCL's will scratch just as easy as the 18K YG. You're not going to notice any less scratches.

not for me...
i'd think it'd be cheaper if: - get a SS GMTIIC - ceramic bezel of the TT GMTIIC - hands and dial of the TT GMTIIC instead of getting a TT GMTIIC and an SS Oyster bracelet with PCLs... |

Not bad but why tone it down. It's a rolex. They aren't really low key to begin with. I have a tt bluesy ant the gold polishes up quickly. Go for the gold.
